Club members meet on the first Wednesday of every month (except for July and August) at 7 PM in the basement of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Columbia Missouri. Each meeting has an educational spotlight and a member presented program or the occasional silent auction where members bring in their own rocks, minerals, fossils, and jewelry and the proceeds go back to the club. Club meetings are open to anyone to attend, not just members. The CMRLC business meetings are held before the regular monthly club meetings and members are welcome to stay and provide input. The club's youth meets at 6:30 PM for the Kidz Mine meeting on the same date and in the same location. Each month a new educational topic is discussed and youth members are encouraged to bring specimens and ask questions.
As a group, we do a range of activities throughout the year.
CMRLC hosts an annual gem and mineral show every spring.
CMRLC has club member exhibits that rotate throughout the year at Daniel Boone Regional Library.
This is a non-profit organization. The general purpose is to provide education and encourage the knowledge and study of mineralogy, geology, paleontology, earth sciences, metal crafts, and the lapidary arts.
